Interview to Gualberto Solano, father of the comrade Daniel Solano, worker delegate disappear in Argentina

Punishment and trial to all the police led by the parties, killer of the fighting rural workers and workers!

The struggle against the brutal crime of the young worker Daniel Solano continues

Opposite to the public prosecutor’s office in the centre of the town Choele Choel, the family of the rural worker Daniel Solano disappeared on November 5th in 2011, keep settled a fighting tent to get justice and punishment to the murderers of the young worker from Tartagal-Salta who disappeared almost a year ago.
Daniel was hardly 23 years old; he was part of the thousands of the migrant workers (“golondrinas”) who annually are taken by the fruit companies from Comahue, now concentrated in the Province of Rio Negro. Such workers are super exploited with miserable salaries and slavery conditions.

Daniel fought side by side their worker comrades against such huge injustice and thus, confronted the scab UATRE bureaucracy and challenging the killer Radicalist and Peronist police from Rio Negro who guaranteed security to the company Agro Cosecha-Expofrut they prepared a strike demanding an increase in salaries and decent conditions to work.

For that reason, he was killed brutally till his body got disappeared. The worker organizations have the duty of being in solidarity with the Solano`s family and putting all their forces for the assassins of Daniel together with the boss and Rio Negro´s government to be in prison.

Interview to Gualberto Solano

D.O: Comrade Gualberto tell us about how the fight goes on in the tent

G: well, here we do as we can; quite alone. But even in that way we keep fighting for the killers of my son to pay for the crime committed. The town, workers are always in solidarity with us, they bring us supplies and propel us to follow ahead. There is always a work comrade of Daniel in the tent. This tent was settled on February 5th and some weeks I went to Tartagal.

D.O:  What is the way forward in the fight?

G: Well, since last Saturday when we came back to the tent, one of my younger daughter and other family have been here with me. Because we got 8 witnesses to come here to declare; and after that they found the wallet of Daniel. Nobody doubts that the killers were policemen. The charges continue-they say-non-defined.
But they don’t want to give me the body, they must know where my son was buried.

D.O: Do the policemen continue in detention?

G: Yes, there are 7 in detention. And their families keep that tent settled a block far from here since July when they (the policemen TN) were arrested. However, for now they don`t bother or attack us.

D.O: Very soon it will be the first anniversary of the crime. Do you think about calling for any public act or movilization in protest?

G: Yes, the idea is to convene an act on the Island 92, I invite everybody to participate next November 5th. There is a commission of solidarity and support to the cause, and they will publish the details of such activity.
I want to say that I am grateful for the help, the $600 sent by the comrades from Buenos Aires, Pacheco, I think past 09/05/12.

I ask for help in this fight. The organizations of human rights and unions have not helped us with anything. I was without job and I am 57 years old, I worked for road-safety company.
The Town of Tartagal encourage us to go on ahead, but for the distances everything is very difficult, since the poverty in the North of the country is huge, even the drinkable water is limited.
I give thanks to you that are here with us; I don’t have words to thank you and It makes me happy whenever you phone me. I send a hug for all the comrades.
