If there is no solution; THERE WILL BE WAR, WAR!
With strikes, self-defense pickets, barricades and road blocks the Spanish coal miners enter the fight
As during the ‘30s in the remembered “Spanish Civil War”, the powerful Spanish mineworkers are fighting again. The undefined strike of the coal miners in Asturias and Leon intensifies with fights against the Civil Guard, road blocks and massive demonstrations.
In these regions the governments started to cut the budgets for coal extractions in order to end with the activity in the next few years. Rajoy wants to apply the plan as the one imposed by Thatcher in England in the ‘80s. Back then she defeated the militant miners and closed all the mines in the country to relocate the Minning companies in the colonies and semicolonies to collect minerals at lower cost. Such defeat was thanks to the betrayal of the Stalinist bureaucracy and TUC bureaucracy.
This offensive of the Spanish financial capital, the Monarchy and the Government is part of the attack that workers and exploited people are suffering all over Europe. Those who broke the State Treasury to bail out the broken banks now are receiving 100 billion Euros that the European Union will give to Rajoy’s government to “help” the Spanish economy to leave the crisis behind. In the meantime they are preparing the worst hell for the working class by reducing the production this year. Only in Asturias 16,000 miners will be part of the millions unemployed workers in Spain (around 25%). Thus, their families and others whose lives depend on the mining industry will be ruined, as millions of workers in the Continent are too.
Despite and against the servility before the Spanish Crown of the trade unions which betrayed any attempt of the masses with their imbecile policy of “moderate the attack”, the working class from Austria and Leon are facing the attack with their own methods of struggle: strikes, the barricades and self-defense pickets, i.e. masses’ political fight. From the mines the war cry is “if there is no solution; there will be war, war!” They have blocked roads and highways stopping transport of goods and people. In the streets, the road blocks and demonstrations miners march together with their children (who fight to defend the education), teachers, small businesses and other workers who want to unify their claims.
This is the way to face the attacks from the bankers, Monarchy and their government against the working class and exploited masses! Long live the miners’ struggle! Out with the bureaucrats from the UGT and CCOO! Unions must be recovered for the workers and their revolutionary fight!
For a General revolutionary strike all over Spain NOW! For a National Congress of rank and file miners, unemployed workers, students, the indignados and the masses to fight to solve the problems with our own hands!
Yesterday in Plaza del Sol with the “Republic of Indignados”, the exploited and the youth took step forwards in the fight against Monarchy. Today the miners are facing up the Spanish Crown. Long live their struggle! Out with the Bourbons! Out with Rajoy, PSOE, PP and all of them imperialist parasites!
As Greek masses shouted, emulating the Argentinean revolution of 2001: “out with every one of them, not a single one should return!”
The hard combat of the miners proves that there are conditions for a unified fight of the exploited masses of the whole Continent. A single class a, single fight in Eastern, Western Europe and across the Mediterranean Sea! Death to Maastricht! For the Socialist United States of Europe!
