Comrades of the JRCL-RMF,
Comrade Zengakuren,
Comrades of the Antiwar Youth Committee,
Comrades,
From the Collective for the Refoundation of the Fourth International / FLTI we salute your 63rd International Antiwar Assembly.
This will take place almost two years into the war of extermination against the Palestinian population by Zionism in Gaza. Millions of workers and young people have taken to the streets around the world to stop this endless massacre.
Gaza is the starting point of a counterrevolutionary offensive by Zionism, under US command, which will extend, as it is already doing, to Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, to impose what US imperialism needs, that is, the “Greater Israel”.
This genocidal and fascist offensive was initiated by Biden, and now Trump is taking it all the way.
The US seeks to regain direct control of all the "oil routes" in the Maghreb and the Middle East, which it lost with its defeat and withdrawal from Iraq in 2008.
The Wall Street crash, also in that same year, marked the beginning of an economic crisis that has spiraled across the globe to this day.
The loss of control of the global economy by US imperialism in various parts of the world was openly expressed in the Middle East in 2011. There, an uprising of the masses of the Maghreb and the Middle East began, threatening to reach Jerusalem. Imperialism lacked the counterrevolutionary mechanisms to intervene directly. It used third parties to do its "dirty work" and contain these enormous revolutionary processes.
For example, he had to turn to Russia and the Shiite bourgeoisie of Lebanon and Iran to support and help the fascist al-Assad in crushing and soaking in blood the enormous Syrian revolution, which left more than 600,000 murdered and 15 million as IDPs and refugees.
They diverted the struggles in Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, etc., implementing a perfidious policy of class collaboration, the ultimate expression of which was the establishment of a so-called "anti-terrorist front," which the entire Stalinist and reformist left worldwide entered, along with the imperialist powers of both Europe and USA.
Comrades,
Having diverted and defeated that fabulous mass upsurge in the Maghreb and the Middle East, USA is now back in full force, trying to regain direct control of their businesses in the region. They're doing so through their land-based aircraft carrier, i.e. the State of Israel, in the Middle East, where 80% of the energy consumed by the planet is produced.
USA is returning to the world today, now embodied in Trump, to regain the hegemony it had lost in global politics and economics.
Trump has launched a tariff trade war, but to succeed, he must recapture spheres of influence and sources of raw materials, particularly the "oil routes." That is what the battle for Gaza is about, and he is waging it through its direct agent, Zionism.
The result to date is more than 300,000 Palestinians murdered, disappeared, and buried under the rubble in Gaza, out of a population of 2.5 million. Gaza is subject to chronic famine, which threatens to make most of its inhabitants disappear. Thousands upon thousands of women, young people, and children are shot at Zionist checkpoints when they announce they are distributing food.
Comrades,
The resistance of the Palestinian people against the forces of the fascist occupier is fierce. Zionism, which has the fifth most powerful army in the world, after almost two years, has not yet established control of Gaza, a territory measuring 30 by 40 square kilometers. The Zionist infantry has been unable to take the territory or the streets, or to remain in them. A heroic mass civil war is confronting the occupation house by house.
Thus, Zionism's military offensive now becomes a war of extermination: of demolition, hunger and scorched earth.
But the masses still don't surrender. With their pots empty, thousands of children and women take to the streets in Gaza, denouncing that Trump and Zionism are starving them to death.
The heroic Palestinian masses do not deserve to be defeated. They deserve to succeed.
The tragedy is that due to enormous betrayals, their heroic resistance has been besieged.
As in every national struggle against imperialism, we see the cowardice and cynicism of the native bourgeoisie, junior partners of imperialism.
All the Arab bourgeoisies, let's be clear, are besieging Gaza.
In a "nonaggression" pact, Lebanon's Hezbollah laid down its weapons. So did the bourgeoisie of southern Iraq. Iran, after promising the "mother of all battles" and being militarily attacked by the US and Zionism, remained silent and entered into negotiations with imperialism for its "nuclear disarmament."
Syria's al-Jolani has already made a pact with Zionism to hand over the south of that country, in order to finally stifle a new revolutionary onslaught of the masses that came to bring justice to the murderer al-Assad... The Cairo bourgeoisie keeps the Rafah Wall high.
This is not the most severe issue. The Palestinian Authority and the PLO have brutally repressed and crushed the uprisings of the youth in Jenin and Nablus who sought to go and fight alongside their brothers in Gaza.
They dedicated themselves to demanding the disarmament of the resistance, but imperialism and Zionism "do not reward traitors." The West Bank has just been "annexed" by the Zionist parliament to the State of Israel...
Zionism today attacks the masses of Gaza with the missiles of hunger. The Middle Eastern proletariat, and the international one, have the power to directly attack throughout the region and in all the capitals of the world, the business, property, and plundering of the imperialist oil companies, that are taking away the "black gold" and all its riches, guarded by the counterrevolutionary guardians of imperialism, i.e., Zionism and all the regimes and governments of the Maghreb and the Middle East.
The workers also have in their hands the ability to paralyze the war machine of US imperialism and Zionism by controlling the airports and ports. The global working class can paralyze the planet to save their brothers and sisters in Gaza.
Palestinian unions have issued a renewed call for workers around the world to rise up to stop the genocide in Gaza. Establishing an International General Strike Committee around Palestinian unions is an urgent task to prevent the dispersal of the enormous solidarity felt by workers around the world for the Palestinian cause.
Calling on the Syrian masses that confronted al-Assad and Putin to break with the al-Jolani government and open a combat front against Zionism in Syria is what the Palestinian masses need today.
Disobeying Hezbollah and establishing Lebanon's military front to break the siege of Gaza is the immediate task of every fighter for the Palestinian national cause.
Winning the streets in Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt to overthrow the governments that are lackeys of imperialism and Zionism is the path already proposed by the Jordanian masses, who are calling for the opening of borders to enter and fight against Zionism.
Disarming the PLO and arming the Palestinians in the West Bank is a task that cannot wait another minute.
The working class of the Middle East and internationally have the strength to stop the genocide. What they lack is the leadership they deserve to lead them to victory.
Comrades,
US imperialists, embodied in Trump, are the ones on the offensive across the planet. With their trade war and their wars of colonialism and oppression, they seek to regain control of the world economy and the division of labor, which remains dislocated and in crisis today.
In the face of the US crisis that began in 2008, the imperialist Maastricht closed in on itself and established the vast European market around the Franco-German axis and a pact with Russia as a supplier of cheap raw materials. A vast regional market from the Russian steppes to Portugal was on its feet.
With cheap gas, hydrocarbons, minerals, and food, the European imperialist powers increased their labor productivity and aggressively advanced into the various sectors of production of the global economy and the sources of raw materials throughout the semi-colonial world.
As it was US imperialism, along with the City of London, which guaranteed the restoration of capitalism in the former USSR and China in 1989, it could not allow Germany and the European imperialist powers to ultimately be, under the leadership of Maastricht, who benefit from the fruits of this imperialist victory.
The war in Ukraine, where the US wielded its full weight in NATO, was the US imperialism's opportunity to disrupt the European market and dislocate the imperialist Maastricht trade axis with Eastern Europe and Russia.
In sight of the embrace today between Trump and Putin, as the "organizers of the ceasefire" in Ukraine, it is abundantly clear that the imperialist policy of both NATO and the European Union was not and could never be to support the national liberation struggle of occupied Ukraine, just as the imperialist policy for any oppressed nation never was. On the contrary, their objective was none other than to allow Russia to militarily weaken Ukraine, partition it, and even seize a portion of its territory, but "without winning the war."
That's what the ongoing "peace plan" is all about: Crimea and part of Donbass for Moscow, and Ukraine's minerals, "rare earths," agricultural black earth soil, gas, and all its riches for the US imperialism and the IMF.
This is Trump's plan to break up Ukraine with Putin and leave it as an invaded and plundered colony.
The case of Ukraine once again demonstrates that any national liberation struggle can only succeed under the leadership of the working class and the poor people of the oppressed country, allied with the international proletariat.
Precisely, the role of the traitorous leaderships was to put the world working class on the wrong side of the trench in the Ukrainian national war and to lead the fight against "Great Russian" oppression and IMF plunder to a dead end and to the tearing apart of the nation and its working class.
A sector of the global reformist left has jumped on Putin's toes, having already partitioned Ukraine and occupied a portion of it, where he enslaves Ukrainian workers just as much as, or rather worse than, the "red mandarins" of the Chinese Communist Party.
Others created illusions that with the "kind help" of US imperialism and the European Union, they could triumph over Putin. Nothing could be further from the truth... Imperialist Maastricht needs to colonize the peoples of the East, the former partners in the Warsaw Pact, the Balkans, and even Russia itself, to get out of the crisis and the quagmire in which its financial capital finds itself, just as US imperialism is too.
Comrades,
Nothing is yet decided in the war in Ukraine. Tens of thousands of workers and popular sectors have risen up and are now taking to the streets of the main cities of that oppressed nation. The Ukrainian question is still far from being resolved in favor of the executioners of the oppressed peoples.
In Ukraine, those who truly fought the Russian occupation are taking action. They are beginning to make their voices heard. They are the rank-and-file soldiers marching to Kyiv to denounce the cowardice and all kinds of theft committed by their officers on the front lines. They are the workers and their organizations demonstrating, denouncing the theft by Zelensky's puppet government, which made the Ukrainian people believe that, hand in hand with NATO and the imperialist bandits, they would defeat Moscow.
Workers and common people took to the streets of Ukraine in a true rebellion against the direct attacks on the working class, freedom of expression, and democratic liberties by a government that must toughen its approach against the people because it is preparing to hand over all of Ukraine's wealth to imperialism. And this will not be achieved peacefully.
Ukrainian workers must be told the truth: from the Zelensky government and army officers and his pro-imperialist bandits there will come generals as murderous as those in Moscow so to hand over a divided Ukraine and all its riches to imperialism.
Comrades,
The masses must be told the truth: only a government of workers' and soldiers' councils can lead the national struggle to victory.
To defeat Putin and prevent a surrender pact for the Ukrainian nation, it is time for Zelensky and his oligarchic bandits, lackeys of imperialism, to leave.
It's time to establish committees of Ukrainian workers and soldiers, both in Kyiv and in the areas occupied by Moscow, with the demands of keeping the invading troops out, keeping the IMF out, expropriating the expropriators of the people, winning wages and decent work, and ending the repression and massacres of those at the bottom.
It's time to establish a government of workers' and soldiers' councils, which would have the opportunity to expropriate without compensation the imperialist transnationals, banks, gas, mines, and companies of the oligarchs, parasites of the Ukrainian people, in order to have funds to acquire weapons.
A government of workers' and soldiers' councils would disavow all debts to the IMF and imperialist Maastricht.
A Soviet government based on the arming of the people and direct democracy would quickly rally the European working class to its aid. It would also generate broad sympathy among the Russian workers, who by the hundreds of thousands refuse to go to die on the Ukrainian front lines for Putin and his band of murderers and oppressors of the people.
Workers in Europe and Russia must reject the subjugation treaty that Trump and Putin want to impose on the Ukrainian nation.
The demand can be none other than:
No secret negotiations!
Let Russia return to its pre-invasion borders!
We must break with the IMF!
Expropriate the Ukrainian oligarchs and imperialist transnationals!
Make way for Soviet and independent Ukraine!
The working class of the imperialist countries has the obligation to confront this infamous pact among the US, NATO, Putin, and the imperialist Maastricht. This is in its own self-defense. The enslavement of the Ukrainian working class and its national defeat will usher in a dark night for all the oppressed nations of Europe, such as those of the former Warsaw Pact or the former Soviet republics, which the imperialist powers plunder and despoil.
A Putin who seizes lands in a tormented Ukraine will arrive a thousand times stronger to crush the Russian working class and the peoples he oppresses as guardian of the capitalists' businesses in Eurasia.
Comrades,
The immediate future of the international proletariat is being defined in the battles for Ukraine and Palestine.
Inter-imperialist disputes are exacerbated. US imperialism can no longer even tolerate the existence of the BRICS, where powerful native bourgeoisies, like those of China, India, Brazil, and Russia itself, seek to establish an independent policy within the world economy.
The big business of arms and war is already generalized across the planet.
Germany is emerging from its crisis by investing a trillion dollars in weapons.
England and France are modernizing their armed forces and unifying their nuclear arsenals, targeting Moscow. A new World War I-style axis has formed, poised to compete with the US on its path to Russia.
The inter-imperialist struggle is becoming increasingly acute and critical in Europe and the Atlantic.
Meanwhile, in the Pacific, the US imperialism has just signed an agreement and a pact for their trade war with Japan, treating it like a lackey, taking it "under its wing" to go after China together.
Comrades,
THE PROLETARIAT HAS NOT SAID THE LAST WORD: THE INTERNATIONAL WORKING CLASS HAS OPENED A NEW FRONT IN THE BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES.
US imperialism has an "Achilles' heel": it has not been able to defeat its own working class. Nor have the imperialist powers of Maastricht. This ties imperialism's hands, for now, from launching superior warlike offensives.
Trump, whose global offensive rivals Hitler's, has not yet been able to fully impose a Bonapartist regime within the US that would strangle the American working class.
He launched his first offensive against Hispano migrants. He has declared war on them.
The workers responded with enormous solidarity, and thus the Battle of Los Angeles began. 30 million Hispano workers live in the US. They do the worst and most demanding jobs. They harvest crops, construct buildings, clean the streets...
Allied with the anti-imperialist and pro-Palestinian youth, and alongside the Black people of Harlem, they have risen up against Trump's National Guard and Marines in fierce street fighting.
Comrades,
The Battle of Los Angeles is a battle of the entire Latin American working class against imperialism, which is preparing new massacres and genocides for the sources of raw materials in Latin America, as it did with the ferocious military dictatorships of the 1970s.
Today, it is far from having achieved this. From Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, the working class has not surrendered.
Neither the Battle of Los Angeles, nor those of Gaza or of Ukraine have finished writing their final chapters… This is a class war that is in full swing and development.
The forces to defeat and halt the imperialist counterrevolutionary offensive are already in the streets and are far from exhausted. This is the only alternative to block the path to war and open the path to revolution.
The ironclad alternative that is ever closer is none other than socialism or war.
What prevents these battles from being coordinated and new fronts from being opened for the world proletariat is the overaccumulation of traitorous leaderships that disperse the struggles of the working class internationally, divide it, and undo its offensives.
Today Stalinists, social-imperialists, liquidators of Trotskyism and other renegades of Marxism are grouped together in the so-called “Progressive International.”
Here and there, they subject the working class to various bourgeois gangs, which they paint as "progressive," "democratic," or "anti-imperialist" ones, though they are nothing more than various instruments of imperialism, as are fascism and Bonapartism, to maintain its dominance and deceive and defeat the masses.
It was Biden, the "progressive" with whom the reformist left said Trump should be confronted, who, along with Netanyahu, organized the monstrous genocide against the Palestinian masses. Trump comes now to finish his work. What these leaderships call "democratic imperialisms" or "progressive bourgeoisies" are nothing more than those who tie the hands of the masses so that the fascist executioner can deliver a decisive blow. One doesn't work without the other.
The struggle to establish an independent proletarian strategy so that the working class, through the method of revolution, can provide a way out of the crisis is an indispensable task for achieving victory.
It is a matter of confronting the perfidious class collaborationist policies of Stalinism and reformism, on the one hand, and, on the other, vulgar pacifism, which denies the masses the right to self-defense and the right to arm themselves to confront the counterrevolutionary forces of the bourgeoisie.
There is no time to lose.
The need to establish a revolutionary internationalist movement of the vanguard of the world proletariat and its organizations that claim to be revolutionary Marxists is the task of the moment.
The fight is to centralize a program and a policy of action that would allow the proletariat to strike imperialism with a united fist.
The fight is to return the struggle for workers' and socialist revolution to the center of the international working class's struggle. Without revolution, neither the war nor the ongoing genocides will be stopped; nor will the battles of the class struggle be won.
This question is a matter of life and death for workers, since the one who pays and will pay for trade wars, tariff increases, and massive investments in weapons is and will continue to be the working class by losing its achievements.
To defeat imperialism, the only path is revolution. Onward to militant internationalism!
Long live the working class fighting in the Battle of Los Angeles, in the Palestinian resistance, in occupied Ukraine! Their struggle is the struggle of the entire world working class!
