“Eighth Global Action for Ayotzinapa and for Mexico”

4 months since the disappearance of the 43 students of the School for teachers:
Ayotzinapa is alive, the fight continues!

Yesterday the “Eighth Global Action for Ayotzinapa and for Mexico” was carried out. There were demonstrations in 22 cities all around the country.
Here in DF we gathered in 4 points near the capital since the early morning. We crossed all the city towards the Zócalo. They called the march: “tired feet”. I was in the meeting point located in the National Auditorium. Thousands were in the DF streets: teachers, students, workers and peasants were in the crowd getting larger.

Families and students of the Ayotzinapa Committee were at the head of the four demonstrations towards Zócalo. In the column where we marched there was a car at the head with loudspeakers with which a speaker addressed people all the time. A father of one of the 43 students and a student of the “Normal Isidro Burgos” opened the public meeting. They denounced the State as the responsible for the disappearance of the 43 and assured that the Army and state and municipal Guerrero police were also involved during the night they disappeared. They demanded Peña Nieto to give back students alive since he and his government know where they are.

A feeling of rage and indignation unified us. Why? The family of students wonder themselves. Their pain is huge “four months and we don’t know anything on our sons, we don’t know if they eat, if they are ok. Four months without listening their voice, without the possibility to hug them” one of the fathers said. They have understood and say. “That is the last straw” it is no longer only for the 43, it is heard and you can read in each postcard in the demonstration: “we are all Ayotzinapa”. The thousands crowded in the street knew clearly they no longer want to put deaths and disappears so that a government lackey of Yankees ends with their conquests by privatizing their wealth, destroying their education, moving them out from the land people gained with blood in the Mexican revolution. They have said: That’s enough! Eight hours lasted the demonstration, not even a single minute of silence. The Mexican exploited have to a lot to say.

The teachers who participated in the protest denounced the “structural plan” of reforms launched by Peña against which the students started to fight. They called Peña Nieto traitor of the homeland, lackey of MNCs and gravedigger of the Mexican revolution, not only for the reforms but also for the ongoing privatization of oil.

Zócalo was crowded with people. The four columns gathered there. There was a big stage with the photos of the 43 students. We entered Zocalo raising our fist up and with our head held high. Once there, the families gathered on the stage.
A single and strong war cry was heard in the square “YOU ARE NOT ALONE”. Having the photos of their sons they denounced the Peña Nieto government and his army as direct responsible for the disappearance of their family.
“Give back our children; you know where they are because you make them disappear”. “You will not defeat us, we are not tired, and we never forget our children. If we have to die on our feet like trees we will do it” said a father. It was unanimous the denounce on the part of the families and other students that Peña Nieto government only told lies to them and he said their sons are dead for families to stop the searching since they are the “pebble in the shoe” of the president. They told him in public when they met him: if Peña Nieto was unable to resolve the problem, he must renounce as the government of Guerrero did.

The students of the preservice School for Teachers “Isidro Burgos” stated from the stage that the attack against the Schools for teachers was because they would never accept that MNCs interfere in there.
Whenever a father filled with tears, the entire square chanted “YOU ARE NOT ALONE” and whenever one of them named Peña they chanted “Out Peña” and “out the State”.
Everybody ended his speech with some chant. The vast majority chanted “they took them alive, we want them back alive ” , “why do you kill them if they are the hope of Latin America”, “Shoulder to shoulder, side by side, we are all Ayotzinapa”! “we are not one, we are not 100, we have 43 missing”, “fascist Peña, you kill students”, “Ayotzi is alive, the fight continues” and other chants come from the tradition “when the people raise for peace, freedom and land, the powerful ones will shake from the cost to the mountains” and “…the comrades will be avenged, and who will take revenge for them? The organized people will do so. For that, fight, don´t give up fighting, for a worker, peasant and popular government”.

In the Palace of Government, the spokesperson of the families said what all of them felt: “today Peña is no longer the president of Mexico; it is time the people govern with the popular assemblies. All the country must strive for a people’s government”. Immediately in the square as heard “out Peña!”. The force of exploited could be felt. As the masses shout in the Mexican streets: “Nor PRI, nor PAN, nor PRD are the solution to our problems!”
Down with the NAFTA government of Peña Nieto and the fraud regime of PRI-PAN-PRD! Extend and centralize the dual power organs of armed masses! For a national congress in the Zocalo of delegates of all the worker, poor peasants, fighting student organizations! All power to the people! It is a need to conquer the worker and peasant commune in Guerrero and extend it all across Mexico!
