To condemned Las Heras workers,
To all workers, students and people who rally on the International Day against political repression,
We the JRCL express our solidarity with your international call against political repressions on righteous fights of the toiling masses. We know that you have been indomitably fighting to smash the brutal and shameful sentence of the court. We also know that ATE-Santa Cruz workers who rose in a fight are faced with persecution. We are filled with great indignation against the state power and with the ardent will of solidarity. With anger and pains, we are feeling that the persecution against you is that against Japanese workers and students.
Now in Japan, the Abe government has dissolved the parliament and decreed the general elections. From the beginning of this year, complains and protests were widespread throughout the country against the government policies, such as the strengthening of the US-Japan military alliance, nuclear power plants, unemployment and poverty. The Prime Minister’s Office was repeatedly besieged by mass demonstrations, with the red banner of Zengakuren in the forefront. In a bid to oppress the protests by an overwhelming power, Abe decided to resort to the elections. He is now mobilizing TVs and newspapers as his tools for justifying his policies with demagogueries. Oppositions including the Japanese Communist Party are, however, totally immersed in election campaigns for collecting votes while having abandoned mass struggles. This is a grave betrayal, which will weaken the fight of the toiling masses. We the JRCL have issued the statement ‘Topple down the Abe government by the working class struggle,’ and are now advancing the fight together with students of Zengakuren and militant workers.
In Okinawa (Japan’s southernmost part where a million people live) Zengakuren students and militant workers are in the forefront of a mass protest against the construction of a new US military base. Protesters in canoes have been fighting at sea to stop the drilling survey for the construction while on land people have been fighting to block lorries. At last, the construction is now at a standstill. With an arrogant hatred, Abe is resorting to an authoritative measure to suppress the fight. He is escalating persecutions against trade unions and student organizations. We the JRCL are now fighting to smash the attack together with militant workers and students.
Today all over the world, the US-led imperialist rulers including those in Japan and Europe and the rulers of China and Russia are hell-bent on building up their nuclear military capabilities against each other, while at home they are imposing miseries upon the toiling masses under their oppressive rules. Also in Palestine and other Middle East countries, as well as other regions in Asia, Africa and America, people are suffering from harsh exploitation, expropriation and tyrannies, coupled with aggressive wars. We fight in solidarity with all the people of the world who fight against wars, poverty and oppression. We therefore express our wholehearted solidarity with your call against political repressions.
Persecution against you is that against us. We are with you.
Let us fight together!
